Job Description
Provides assessment, evaluation and therapeutic/clinical services to diversion program graduates applying for pre-trial diversion through the program, offers continued clinical and therapeutic services, provides training to other agencies on trauma informed care, and advises the District Attorney on therapeutic and clinical needs for additional diversion programs.
Responsibilities
Education, Experience and Training:
Successful completion of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or other job-related field of study.
Program Clinician I (minimum salary)
Minimum one (1) year pre-/post-graduate level supervised experience which may be obtained while pursuing a Master’s degree through the completion of a practicum program. Provisional/Associate license required. OR, position may be under filled at job grade FM minimum until provisional/ associate license is obtained (passed test), not to exceed 18 months from date of hire.
Program Clinician II
Minimum three (3) years post-graduate level supervised clinical experience; and independently licensed and independently licensed in the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, department, and the general public. Must pass an extensive background investigation. Mandatory drug testing prior to employment and will be subject to random, unannounced drug and/or alcohol testing during employment. Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code.

Responsibilities
- Provides assessment, evaluation and clinical/therapeutic services to program graduates of diversion programs to reduce recidivism and address mental health and unaddressed trauma needs. Conducts individual, group and other therapy services.
- Reviews offense reports and prior treatment records, consults with prosecutor, recommends treatment plan for eligible defendants.
- Assesses the need for, and develops training material, presents training to partner agencies regarding trauma informed care. Conducts meetings/training for program clients/misdemeanor defendants.
- Serve as a consultant to administration, probation officers, court personnel, education department, attorneys, and institution professionals. Performs research on new programs designed to reduce jail population and/or recidivism.
- Maintains professional development through opportunities offered by the Dallas County or other approved professional organizations to aid in maintaining professional relevancy and licensure.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
