Position Summary
The Day School Director of Curriculum and Instruction provides leadership, coordination, and facilitation in developing and implementing curriculum and instructional programs.
Essential Functions
The Day School Director of Curriculum and Instruction will be responsible for supervising and supporting teachers in their preparation and implementation of curriculum and lesson plans
Provides leadership for curriculum resource adoptions, including designing staff development to help staff gain skills and competencies relative to curricular changes
Assists in the implementation of the FPC Day School strategic plan
Daily monitoring of classroom performance, giving feedback (communicating) and motivating teachers and staff
Provides leadership for the development and continuous improvement of curriculum, instruction, and assessments
Directly assists the team with issues of curriculum and instruction
Recommends policies, programs, and procedures essential to the needs of children, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local rules and regulations
Directs systems for collecting and analyzing data to recommend services or program modifications
Analyzes program information/data and prepares documentation to report to the Day School Director.
Maintains processes and systems that result in recruitment, induction, support, evaluation, development, and retention of high-performing staff.
Assist with recruitment, selection, and training of personnel and make sound recommendations relative to personnel placement, assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal.
Evaluate job performance of teachers quarterly to ensure effectiveness.
Maintain awareness of trends and best practices and is proactive in continually acquiring knowledge in fields related to children and families and early childhood development and education.
Communicates regularly with parents to keep them informed and up to date with Day School Activities
Assist teachers in planning the classroom environment to include room arrangement and daily schedules.
Prepare supply lists and ensure these materials are purchased. Purchase materials if needed.
Make sure manipulatives, books, puzzles, art supplies, and any other supplies needed by the teachers are available.
Develops good relations with the Teachers, children, and their families
Teach in classrooms when needed
Other Functions
Provide teachers with training, guidance, and coaching.
Attend leadership training seminars, workshops, and conferences.
Support administration to ensure teachers follow policies and procedures of the program as well as the church.
Organize and maintain resource rooms and the library.
Work with the Parent Association to coordinate enrichment activities.
Be visible and available to both parents and teachers during critical times.
Reports any maintenance issues or concerns that arise.
Demonstrate conflict resolution skills with administrators, parents, teachers, staff, and the community.

Qualifications
10 years of experience in a licensed childcare facility
Minimum of five years experience training, mentoring, or coaching early childhood professionals, and three years of experience teaching in an early childcare setting.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
CLASS certification
Advanced knowledge of CLI Engage, and a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education, Management, or a related field. In addition, strong oral and written communication skills and an appreciation for accuracy and details are necessary. A Childcare Administrator License (www.dfps.state.tx.us) issued by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and experience with Results-Based Accountability (RBA) is preferred.
