What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Management Coordinator II (226 Days) position at Dallas Independent School District?
- This position will serve as an Emergency Management Coordinator for the district.
- Responsible for ensuring the District’s NIMS compliance.
- Coordinate internal emergency response, planning, preparation, and training for Dallas ISD personnel.
- Collaborate with other District, local, county, state, and federal agencies, and officials, as assigned, in the advancement of school safety.
- Manage departmental/divisional projects as directed.
- Interface with campus administrators to resolve safety concerns on and around the campuses, collaborating with external partners and stakeholder as appropriate.
- Present programs to various groups, both internal and external, regarding emergency preparation, required drills, best practices, and emergency preparedness.
- Plan, assist, and advise administrative staff in the conduct of campus and non-instructional facility emergency drills.
- Plan, assist, and advise administrative staff in the conduct of campus and non-instructional facility reunification in the event of evacuations.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university required
- Must obtain IAEM/AEM/CEm/TEM within 24 months of employment
- Valid Texas Driver's License and a record that meets District's standards
- Successful completion of the Dallas ISD Police Department's background Investigation.
- No felony convictions; must submit to electronic fingerprinting as a pre-requisite for employment drug screening, and polygraph.
- Possess a valid Texas driver license with an acceptable driving record
- Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing
- Successful completion of an internship or 1-year wage earning experience in the field of Emergency management or related field
