What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager I Systems (226 Days) position at Dallas Independent School District?
- Manage and support the Food and Child Nutrition Services (FCNS) technology server hardware infrastructure and enterprise software systems. Gather requirements and product specifications, write requests for proposals, manage installations, implementation, maintenance, and support of software systems. Manage contract renewals, or service agreements, and upgrade server hardware and software.
- Ensure data center architecture including server/SAN configuration and capacity planning is efficiently and effectively managed and performing optimally.
- Ensure disaster recovery/business continuity site performs to meet FCNS business requirements.
- Ensure Food Services systems, software, and hardware are online and providing optimal services.
- Analyze and identify areas of concern, both data and workflow. Develop functional specifications and implement comprehensive resolutions.
- Ensure trouble tickets are resolved within a timely manner as agreed on department SLA.
- Provide leadership in the design/development/implementation of new and/or purchased applications.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical staff, and work with end users to develop solutions and specifications for solutions.
- Manage, organize, and assign tasks and provide leadership in the installation of new application software releases.
- Function as part of a cross-functional team for larger projects, performing all IT-related activities including analysis, design, programming, testing, and implementation.
- Develop technical and user documentation.
- Analyze and troubleshoot operating system or application issues and recommend remediation, as well as preventative measures.
- Provide technical leadership with extensive knowledge of Food Services applications, methodologies, and technologies.
- Management of special projects for FCNS as assigned; asses and anticipate technology projects and design/recommend appropriate action and resources.
- Federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.

- Bachelor's Degree in information systems, computer science or related field
- Eight years' related experience; two years' prior supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects which provide services to multiple departments.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff.
- Demonstrated background with enterprise-level software systems, windows OS, hardware and peripherals, server hardware, and virtualization.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with technical and non-technical District personnel.
- Demonstrated experience in testing hardware and software.
- Demonstrated experience with building and maintaining servers in a VMware environment.
- Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
