Dallas Market Center is looking for an Art Director to join our team! The Art Director leads the concepting and creation of marketing campaigns and individual projects to promote Dallas Market Center and its events. The Art Director will manage creative and design work including concepts, timelines, review, and submission, and may manage outside resources such as freelancers. This is a role for someone able to multi-task, who’s comfortable with creative production.

The ideal candidate will be creative but also organized and able to manage the process of asset delivery, on time and on spec. Experience in digital graphic design and print is a must; experience with multi-media would be nice to have.

Position Description:

  • Create print and digital ads, print collateral, emails, web content, etc. in partnership with broader marketing and leasing teams
  • Oversee creative project management, including maintaining a project list, creative briefs, timeline, and delivery
  • Own on-time and on-spec delivery of all creative projects and assets
  • Lead the development of creative strategy
  • Develop assets, visual concepts, campaigns, and verbiage to attract new and existing customers, including exhibitors and buyers
  • Work with marketing and cross-functional leadership to align creative approaches
  • Collaborate with a range of stakeholders on plans and projects
  • Supervise asset management of projects and elements including logos, photos, etc.
  • Supervise collaborators/freelancers (graphic designers, writers, etc.)
  • Assign work appropriately to manage workload
  • Work with department leadership to adhere to budget
  • Establish and manage brand standards across all marketing materials
  • Other related duties as assigned

Required Education:

  • Degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design or related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience with established brands

Required Experience:

  • 7 years of experience
  • Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Solid knowledge of fundamental design, typography, photography, and design trends
  • Strong time management abilities, and able to work with little supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate problems when they arise
  • Experience with, or a very strong passion for fashion, home décor, and/or retail design
  • Must be able to receive constructive feedback from other team members/colleagues with an open mind
  • Familiar with best standards for designing for print and digital projects
  • Willingness to learn things which are outside of your knowledge base

Physical Requirements:

  • Office Environment – Ability to sit for vast majority of workday
  • Ability to lift, carry, and procure products for activities such as visual displays and photoshoots
  • Market Duties – Extended amounts of walking during trade events
