POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dallas Mavericks are seeking a dynamic and motivated Technology Department Intern to join our team. This intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of our technology operations, contributing to real projects and learning from seasoned professionals.
LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP:
- June 2 – July 31, 2025. (Duration may change because of performance and/or business needs).
- Mandatory In-Person Internship Development Session. (Every Monday)
- Must be able to work 29 hours per week (3-4 day/wk.), which may include nights and weekends as needed.
JOB FUNCTION:
- Provide first-level technical support to staff, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Support system upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance activities.
- Document IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
- Help maintain inventory and track IT assets across the organization.
- Collaborate with the IT team on special projects, such as system migrations or technology rollouts.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining technology for events, including game-day operations and special initiatives.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting and escalate complex issues as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function as well as the following:
- Basic understanding of IT concepts, including hardware, software, and networking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and macOS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with IT support tools, such as ticketing systems or remote desktop software.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365) is a bonus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be a current college Sophomore, Junior, or Senior majoring in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
