POSITION SUMMARY:
We are on the hunt for an experienced Line Cook to join our talented team and help prepare meals according to our standard recipes. The primary goal will be to prepare high-quality meals that meet the chef’s exact specifications. This role will require you to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and follow strict culinary standards.
JOB FUNCTION:
As a Line Cook, your responsibilities include preparing food, plating dishes, and maintaining sanitation standards while ensuring that all meals meet the chef’s specifications. You will be assigned a specific role on the line, such as the grill or vegetable prep station, depending on the needs of the kitchen. The role involves prepping food, managing inventory, setting up and closing the prep stations, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function as well as the following:
- Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh.
- Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients.
- Bake, grill, steam, and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods.
- Present, garnish, and arrange final dishes to meet high culinary standards.
- Occasionally serve food to guests.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including proper handling of utensils, equipment, and dishes.
- Handle and store ingredients and food according to safety guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Execute opening and closing procedures for the kitchen.
- Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment for each shift.
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients regularly.
- Monitor and manage station inventory levels.
- Accommodate special requests from customers.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers.
