POSITION SUMMARY: The Dallas Mavericks is looking for a Social Media Intern who will be responsible for assisting the social team and communications team with numerous initiatives over the summer.
LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP:
- June 2 – July 31, 2025. (Duration may change because of performance and/or business needs.)
- Mandatory In-Person Internship Development Session. (Every Monday morning.)
- Must be able to work 29 hours per week (3-4 day/wk.), which may include nights and weekends as needed and working games.
JOB FUNCTION:
- Ideating and executing social media campaigns.
- Learning how to cover events on social as well as conduct media interviews.
- Staying on top of trends and pop culture.
- Keeping the content/communications calendars up to date.
- Other essentials duties, that assists with day-to-day operations.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function as well as the following:
- Working knowledge of the Dallas Mavericks and NBA.
- Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook. Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, etc.)
- Must have strong writing and editing ability as well as excellent verbal communication.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize within in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to communicate and engage with fans with a customer first attitude.
- Must be highly motivated, goal oriented, and a self-starter.
- Handle confidential information in a professional manner.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be a current college Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Majoring with a preferred concentration in Sports Marketing/Management, Business/Marketing, Communications, or Advertising
If applying for college credit you must be able to provide proof that credit will be earned toward your course of study (from school/registrar).
