The role of a Studio 41 Technician and Editor for the Dallas Mavericks involves setting up, operating, and maintaining Studio 41 as well as live streams and remote productions. The role also includes editing videos for podcast recordings and publishing podcasts on different platforms, in addition to editing any video pieces that are assigned and produced under the Studio 41 umbrella.
The Studio 41 Technician and Editor will have extensive knowledge and practical experience in camera operation, streaming software, professional lighting, and audio management, as well as proficient editing skills. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a passion for producing high-quality visual content, and the ability to work flexibly in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities :
- Set up and manage equipment and set required to produce audio and visual podcasts and live streams in Studio 41.
- Set up and manage equipment for other shoots in Studio 41 when requested by members from the organization or outside clients.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly for all scheduled shoots.
- Troubleshoot technical issues promptly before or during live and recorded sessions.
- Set up and manage equipment on remote shoots and live streams that are produced by the Dallas Mavericks.
- Oversee the recording of podcasts and live streams, conducting sound checks, monitoring audio levels, technical directing, and making necessary real-time adjustments.
- Oversee the editing and post-production processes to deliver compelling and visually appealing video content.
- Deliver all projects in accordance with the deadlines assigned by content team managers.
- Collaborate with content creators to help execute any shoot that is scheduled in Studio 41.
- Edit other videos that Studio 41 produces, such as long-form or short-form pieces for YouTube or social media as requested by managers.
- Stay updated on the latest video production technologies and trends.
- Collaborate with department leads for purchases to upgrade and add new tech to the studio when requested.
- Ensure effective storage, cloud uploads, backup of audio files, and sharing of files with clients.
- Help organize and maintain the equipment room for the digital content team when requested by content team managers.
- Assist the video production team in any capacity needed for shoots outside of Studio 41 when applicable or requested by content team managers.
