POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a talented Videographer-Editor to join our MavsTV production staff. The ideal candidate is passionate about basketball and has experience in capturing, editing, and producing engaging content for broadcast and digital platforms. In this role, you will cover live events and practices, conduct interviews, and assist in creating highlight packages, features, and digital content to enhance our media presence.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function as well as the following:
- Collaborate closely with producers, directors, and other production team members to plan and execute shoots.
- Contribute creative ideas for content development and visual storytelling.
- Operate ENG cameras and related equipment to shoot live games, practices, studio shows, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage.
- Ensure high-quality video capture under various lighting and environmental conditions.
- Set up and manage all necessary production equipment on location.
- Edit raw footage into segments for exclusive content on the MavsTV digital platform.
- Create highlight reels, feature stories, and promotional videos using editing software (Adobe Creative Suite applications).
- Add graphics, sound, and visual effects to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
- Maintain and troubleshoot video and editing equipment.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new video production and editing technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, Broadcasting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a videographer and editor, preferably in sports broadcasting.
- Proven portfolio showcasing filming and editing skills, particularly in sports content.
- Working knowledge of professional video cameras and editing software (Adobe Creative Suite).
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, and composition.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with broadcast and digital content standards.
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, Broadcasting, or a related field (preferred).
- 2-3 years of professional experience in videography and editing, with a focus on sports.
