Part Time Volunteer Coordinator
Are you connected in the Dallas community at large, and looking to put your networking skills to use? Dallas Retirement Village is looking for a part-time Volunteer Coordinator, could that be you?
The Volunteer Coordinator plans, organizes, develops and directs the Volunteer Program at Dallas Retirement Village in accordance with current federal, state, local and facility standards, guidelines and regulations; and as directed by the Director of Life Enrichment. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for increasing volunteer participation from the greater Dallas community, facilitating the integration of volunteers in to the Dallas Retirement Village community, ensuring the volunteer activities provide support and assistance to all residents of Dallas Retirement Village.
Possible full-time position for the right person.
Essential Job Duties:
- Conducts group and individual presentations off campus to inform service organizations, schools churches and other groups of the needs, goals and mission of DRV.
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements and directs the volunteer program for Dallas Retirement Village within the spirit of the mission and goals for DRV.
- Willing to assist the Life Enrichment Team with the facilitation of activities and events as needed.
- Ensures all volunteers are trained and placed in coordination with other departments, i.e., activities, social services, nursing, independent living, assisted living, memory care, facility operations, etc., in order to accomplish the goals and mission of DRV.
- Supervises all volunteers as well as recruits, screens, orients, trains, places and delegate’s supervision of volunteers to other facility supervisors as the situation warrants.
- Maintains accurate records and provides timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation.
Qualifications

Must possess a two year college degree or greater.

Experience working with the elderly is essential.

Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to communicate and present in person, in writing, and on the telephone effectively in English. Must be an effective presenter with both large and small groups.

The ability to communicate with, supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles. Experience with volunteers given preference. The ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities.

Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiar with a variety of office software and applications.

Must possess good telephone customer service skills.

Be available for periodic weekend and evening events as necessary.
Salary : $18 - $20
