Dallas School District No. 2 is accepting applications for a full-time, benefited School Psychology position.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must have a master's degree or higher as required to meet TSPC certification requirements. Pre-service experience required.
- Develops collaborative partnerships with special education teams in school buildings.
- Conducts special education evaluations; reviews school files and previous evaluation data; gathers data from student, parents, building staff; interprets evaluation data; summarizes findings in psycho-educational report.
- Meets with school-based sped team(s) to explain evaluation results and determine eligibility.
- Offers on-going evaluation to staff and parents. Stays informed of current research regarding best practices.
- Uses a problem solving framework in providing consultation with building staff regarding student behavior concerns.
- Assists self-contained classrooms and school staff with development of crisis support plans.
- Collaboratively develops student specific intervention plans and provides ongoing follow-up support.
- Serves as a liaison to students, staff, and parents regarding schools and commuity resources.

This position provides diagnostic assessment services to students with learning and behavioral issues; consultation and training to teaching staff at all levels to enable students to profit from educational opportunities by resolving problems in the areas of learning, behavior, social and emotional adjustments; participates in developing systems and interventions that establish a positive learning environment.
