What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Center Coordinator position at Dallas Symphony Association Inc?
The Dallas Symphony has a unique opportunity for an individual to manage the Jeanne R. Johnson Education Center, opening in the spring of 2025. This new position will oversee the opening and manage the day-to-day operations of the Education Center; a technology focused; hands-on learning center designed for students of all ages located at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Working closely with MIT Media Lab's Opera of the Future program, this position will oversee the launch of the center, collaborate with Marketing, Communications, and Education departments, manage reservations, and manage a team of volunteer docents.
This position resides within the Education department and reports directly to the Thomas & Roberta Corbett Director of Education. Under the advisement of the Director of Education, the Education Center Coordinator will utilize the Education department's resources and networking connections for student engagement and community awareness of the Education Center. The Education Center Coordinator will also have additional duties to support the programs in the Education department, with a particular focus on supporting Young Strings, Young Musicians, and Symphony YES! programs. Duties to include remote / flexible tasks such as instrument and student database management, event coordination, and other tasks as needed. In-person tasks (only as Education Center schedule allows) to include occasional concert duty and working with Education staff at the beginning of each semester to get student instruments / supplies ready. Additional duties as needed.

A music education background is preferred, and the candidate must understand the fundamentals of working with students, teachers, and schools. Bilingual Spanish speaking / writing skills are a plus.
