Director of Labor and Delivery – Full-Time (Days)
Location: Austin, TX
Compensation: $125,000 - $171,000 (based on experience) Bonus Incentive Shift: Full-Time, No Weekends
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Labor and Deliveryto oversee operations and clinical practice in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining high-quality, patient-centered care in a unit with an average of 850-900 births per month.
You will lead a team of 220 FTEs and ensure smooth day-to-day operations in line with the hospital’s goals and mission. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement in care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the function and staffing of the Labor and Delivery department.
Ensure adherence to clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
Foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration to ensure efficient patient throughput. Lead quality improvement initiatives, focusing on patient safety, experience, and satisfaction. Monitor departmental budget performance and address performance gaps.
Lead efforts to improve employee engagement and develop staff competencies. Participate in the annual budget process, including revenue forecasting and staffing needs.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Master's Degree preferred.
Licensure: Current RN licensure required; Compact license or ability to obtain. Certifications: BLS required; ACLS, NRP, FHM, and RNC-OB preferred.
Experience: 5 years in healthcare in an acute care setting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
