Job Description
The Dallas Morning News is hiring a sports intern for summer 2025
Interns will be expected to report and write daily and enterprise stories on a variety of sports topics. The sports intern will be expected to contibute heavily to both our digital and print products.
All interns are expected to actively use social media in the newsgathering process and could be asked to take smartphone photos or videos.
Some interns could be asked to cover a narrowly focused beat at the forefront of experiments to grow our digital audience.
Job Requirements
Applicants must be enrolled in college and working toward a degree (associate's, bachelor's, master's or doctorate) or they may have graduated within six months prior to the internship start date.
Applicants should send no more than eight published clips or links. Clips may be reduced but must be legible.
The clips or links should focus on the specific position the applicant desires, but materials showing a variety of reporting and writing abilities are acceptable.
A cover letter and résumé with references are required with all applications.
