What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre Construction Sales position at Dalton Smith Construction?
Working with Sales Team to evaluate projects for negotiation or bid process to deliver Turn Key Solutions.
- Inside Sales Support for development period.
- Provide comprehensive review of Sales provided project information.
- Review project report with Sales and Leadership to Qualify Opportunity before advancing to estimate.
- If Qualified, working with sales to confirm scope of work and aligning on scope of work to be pursued. If not qualified, stop work
- Once scope agreed upon, build project estimate engaging internal resources, subcontractors and vendors required to competitively pursue work.
- Collaborate with Sales to develop proposal per risk, billing terms, payment terms and legal guidelines.
- Review Pre-Bid Construction Package with Operations Leadership and confirm alignment to Business Leadership.
- Turn over to Sales to pursue work and close contract.
- Once secured, participate in pre-booking review and booking process.
- If lost, collaborate with Sales and Operations in post loss review to capture lessons learned.
General Support
- Assist in developing sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new account, building rapport, providing technical information and explanations, and preparing quotations.
- Maintains and improves quality results by following standards and recommending improved policies and procedures.
- Updates job knowledge by studying new product descriptions and participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplishes department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
- Engages new vendors and subcontractors that support growth and community engagement goals and objectives.
- Explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- BA/BS University degree with a concentration in marketing, promotions, advertising sales, or business administration
- 5 to 10 years of manufacturing, healthcare or government construction experience preferred
