As the Assistant General Manager, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to ensure the hotel runs smoothly and efficiently. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support the GM: Assist the General Manager with day-to-day responsibilities, including overseeing all departments and ensuring operational excellence.
  • Revenue Driver: Collaborate with the GM to hit revenue targets by optimizing rates, managing budgets, and maximizing profitability.
  • Guest Satisfaction Guru: Lead by example to ensure every guest enjoys a memorable stay, resolving concerns promptly and exceeding expectations.
  • Team Motivator: Coach, train, and inspire team members to perform at their best, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
  • Sales & Marketing Partner: Help develop and implement the hotel’s annual marketing plan, make sales calls, and capitalize on every revenue opportunity.
  • Community Connector: Represent the hotel in the local community, building relationships with businesses, schools, and civic organizations.
  • Operations Champion: Step in wherever needed—whether it’s supporting the front desk, inspecting rooms, or assisting with meetings—to keep the hotel running like a well-oiled machine.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Marriott Experience: Previous experience with Marriott standards and systems is required. Pre-opening experience is a bonus.
  • Leadership Skills: At least three years of hotel operations experience, with two years in a management role.
  • Problem-Solving Prowess: You’re cool under pressure, quick on your feet, and always ready to tackle challenges head-on.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to jump in wherever needed, including weekends, holidays, and working 50 hours per week to support the GM and team.
  • Positive Energy: You’re a team player who knows how to motivate and inspire others while keeping things fun and productive.

A Typical Day Might Look Like This:

  • Start with a quick briefing with the GM, setting the day’s priorities and action plan.
  • Check in with department heads to ensure operations are running smoothly and guests are satisfied.
  • Dive into revenue reports with the GM to strategize rate adjustments and revenue opportunities.
  • Pitch in at the front desk during peak check-in times or walk the property to ensure brand standards are met.
  • Lead a team meeting to share updates, celebrate wins, and keep morale high.
  • Wrap up by preparing a daily report for the GM and reflecting on the day’s successes.

Pay: $38,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
