Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Low Voltage Network Cabler. Working under the direction of the Field Manager, this position is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of video and data cables, as well as copper and fiber cabling, per industry standards.
Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or as needed. Additional hours may be required to complete the task at hand. There may be times when work is required during off hours due to the nature of the client. All candidates must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening. Duties and Responsibilities:
· Install and service various low voltage category cables, including but not limited to twisted pair, coaxial, power-limited tray, stranded and solid conductor, and both single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables.
· Complete physical installations and removal of structured cabling components, cabinets, pathways, racks and related communications infrastructure materials.
· Engage in internal planning to optimize the ability to complete projects within established guidelines.
· Perform tasks such as cutting drywall and poles where applicable.
· Represent Daly Computers to ensure all parties are consistently updated on work progress and that client expectations are met.
· Assist with material control to ensure technicians have the necessary materials to complete work.
· Ensure compliance with quality and safety guidelines.
· Escalate high-risk or unfamiliar tasks as needed to ensure the appropriate level of support is provided.
· Adhere to and enforce environmental, health, and safety policies as provided by Daly and the client.
· Assist with the Scope of Work (SOW) and scope management on projects and service requests.
· Handle Change Requests and Field Change Orders as necessary.
· Communicate and report daily activities and assess task completion within the allotted time.
· Evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot cabling infrastructure systems, performing repairs as necessary.
· Conduct site surveys, document findings for submission regarding requirements and needs.
· Execute project milestones and test plans.
· Complete project closeout deliverables, such as test results, as-built documentation, pictures, and quality audits.
· Travel to client sites as needed to complete assigned work and transport a variety of items, such as tools, equipment, and supplies, to ensure availability at the client site.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School Diploma, along with training and work experience.
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience installing cabling and electronic devices associated with telecom systems, networks, CCTV, security, access control, and/or wireless solutions.
- Certification in Aerial and Scissor lift training is a plus.
- Any industry certifications such as BICSI, Low Voltage, UL, Electronics, Security Cameras, and Fiber Optics Technician are a plus.
- Proven ability to install, terminate, and test a variety of low voltage cables, including but not limited to twisted pair, coax, power-limited tray, stranded and solid conductor low voltage cables.
- Advanced knowledge of terminology related to the installation and service of cabling infrastructure for telecom, data, security, and wireless systems.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local and National Electric Code.
- Familiarity with publications pertaining to standard cabling practices for telecom, data, security, and wireless systems, as well as Federal, State, and Local safety standards.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
- Strong skills and knowledge in using hand tools including cutting poles for sleeves, cutting holes in drywall and through-wall penetration systems.
- Ability to climb ladders and work from heights.
- Working knowledge of management ticketing systems.
- Strong strategic thinking skills to provide innovative ideas and concepts to various audiences.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, time management and organizational skills.
- Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced environment to meet project deadlines/goals.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
