- Serves as a member of Damar’s interdisciplinary team.
- Provides counseling services for identified clients and their support network.
- Performs comprehensive formal and functional mental health assessments.
- Ensures that consistent behavioral-based treatment occurs for clients through ongoing training of client’s identified support network.
- Participates in clinical staffing for clients in the Outpatient Clinic.
- Provide crisis intervention as necessary.
- Interacts professionally with parents, school, medical personnel, and others using only excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Attends mandatory staff meeting and other meetings as assigned.
- Maintains neat, chronological records of all contacts and casework with clients, families and community resources.
- Implements, coordinates, monitor, documents, and evaluate measurable treatment goals.
- Keep abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations.
- Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops as recommended by the Administrator of Residential Interventions or Residential Interventions Director.
What you need to be considered...
- Master’s degree required preferably in social work, psychology, counseling, or applicable discipline with a minimum of 2 years social work or counseling experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with challenging behaviors, developmental and/or emotional disabilities is desired.
- Must already have an LSW, LMHCA, or and LMFTA and be “actively seeking” full licensure.
- If actively seeking full licensure, must submit a full application within 60 days after starting. Once the application is received and approved, you will have 10 months to take and pass the exam needed to obtain the license. If you do not obtain the license after 12 months from your start date, you will no longer be eligible for the position.
- LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT preferred.
- Minimum age of 21 depending on program and / or department requirements.
- Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical.
- Must meet and continue to meet background screening requirements of program(s) assigned to.
Essential Job Functions:
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
