Job Description
Client Information - A nonprofit community center founded in 1984. Services including : preschool, food pantry, Senior Program, GED / HSE program and ESL program.
Job Summary - Responsible for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of children, seniors, staff and other passengers during bus transportation.
Job Duties
- Drive gasoline, powered 25 passenger bus to transport students between neighborhoods, schools, school activities and programs.
- Maintain the safe operating condition, fuel and cleanliness of the vehicle, immediately reporting any problems to the Director of Operations.
- Follow strict time schedules when picking up and dropping off students at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations.
- Communicate with staff and parents to adjust route & schedule as necessary.
- Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
- Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, and or fares received.
- Follow driving and child safety rules.
- Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations
- Regulate heating, lighting and ventilation systems for passenger comfort; conduct pre and post event evaluations and report on outcomes.
- Other duties as assigned.
