Opportunity: Electrical Automotive Field-Service Technician

As part of our expansion strategy and to better serve our distributors and customers, we are hiring experienced Electrical Vehicle Field-Service Technicians to work at our customers’ locations, primarily in Illinois.

Location: This position will be based in Illinois and will primarily require travel throughout the state and on occasion to the Midwest.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ensure that safety is the top priority in all activities performed;

· Conducts thorough and rigorous safety checks on vehicles;

· Perform preventative maintenance, repair service, and emergency repairs to client’s vehicles;

· Able to advise Service Managers of additional repairs or maintenance that could be performed;

· Prepare inspection, maintenance, work reports, and record details on prescribed forms in accordance with established procedures;

· Self-motivated and can work independently

Physical Demands:

· Lifting up to 50lbs;

· Standing for extended periods of time;

· Occasional bending or stooping;

· Exposure to exhaust, grease and shop noise.

Skills that would make you the preferential candidate:

· Experience with transit busses would be beneficial;

· Experience working with minimal supervision;

· Experience with heavy duty transmissions and axles;

· Experience with rebuilding brakes and suspensions;

· Experience with vehicles electronics systems,

· Experience with high voltage systems

· Use of computers. All of our employees are required to enter shop notes through computers;

· Must have own set of tools;

· Experience using diagnostic software;

· Ability to work autonomously, adapt to different situations and manage stress;

· Demonstrate good teamwork skills and maintain positive interactions with others;

· Good verbal, reading comprehension and writing skills;

· Knowledge of first aid would be beneficial
