DAFCO Aerospace is seeking a meticulous and driven Quality Technician to join our Quality Assurance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive inspections, maintaining quality standards, and supporting the Quality Management System (QMS). This role demands strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Inspection:
- Understand and Apply Quality Concepts:
- Ensure products and processes meet quality standards, requirements, and specifications.
- Analyze and report on the cost of quality to minimize defects and improve efficiency.
- Utilize Advanced Quality Tools:
- Use check sheets, control charts, and other statistical tools to monitor quality trends.
- Implement Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to streamline processes and reduce waste.
- Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform Metrology and Calibration:
- Operate hand tools, gauges, optical tools, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), and electronic measuring devices.
- Conduct accurate calibration of weights, balances, and scales to ensure consistent measurement standards.
- Maintain surface plates and other precision equipment in optimal condition.
- Execute Inspection and Testing Procedures:
- Read and interpret technical blueprints and drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Classify product defect characteristics and document inspection findings.
- Conduct both nondestructive and destructive testing techniques to validate product integrity.
- Ensure Compliance and Traceability:
- Establish inspection points to identify errors and improve product traceability.
- Review and analyze Certificates of Compliance (COC) and Certificates of Analysis (COA) for conformance.
- Identify and segregate nonconforming materials, initiating Material Review Board (MRB) processes as required.
Auditing & Risk Management:
- Assist in conducting internal and external audits, including preparation, execution, and documentation.
- Identify potential risks and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate them.
- Provide detailed reports on audit findings and work closely with management to address any discrepancies.
Support Quality Management System (QMS):
- Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) to comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Actively participate in quality training programs to support professional development and team effectiveness.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to drive quality objectives and ensure alignment with company goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in quality, manufacturing, or related fields preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with quality tools and techniques such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is an advantage.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a plus.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
