Cardiac Telemetry Technician :

Job Summary

The Cardiac Telemetry Technician is responsible for continuously monitoring patients' cardiac rhythms and promptly identifying abnormalities to support timely clinical interventions. Working closely with nursing staff and physicians in a hospital telemetry unit, this role is essential for ensuring accurate data collection, patient safety, and effective communication regarding cardiac care.

Essential Functions

Continuous Monitoring :

Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry data, detecting any arrhythmias or changes in heart function.

Quickly notify the appropriate healthcare team members when abnormalities are identified.

Equipment Management & Maintenance :

Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot telemetry equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Maintain accurate logs of equipment performance and patient data.

Patient Care & Communication :

Provide support and reassurance to patients during monitoring.

Document and report findings in the electronic medical record (EMR) promptly and accurately.

Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care.

Safety & Compliance :

Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.

Participate in ongoing training and in-service education to stay updated on best practices and new technologies.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a relevant training program preferred.

Prior experience in cardiac telemetry or a related clinical monitoring role is preferred.

Knowledge of cardiac rhythms, arrhythmias, and related terminology.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certification in cardiac monitoring (e.g., CCT) is a plus.

Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Salary : $58 - $74
