Job Summary
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides immediate pre-hospital care and safe patient transport in emergency situations. Working under the supervision of Paramedics or EMS Supervisors, the EMT conducts rapid assessments, delivers basic life support, and ensures clear communication and documentation.
Essential Functions
- Emergency Response:
- Respond quickly to emergency calls and perform on-site patient assessments.
- Administer basic life support (CPR, AED, wound care, etc.) and stabilize patients.
- Patient Care & Transport:
- Safely transport patients to medical facilities while monitoring their condition.
- Provide concise handover reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Equipment & Team Support:
- Ensure ambulance and emergency equipment are maintained, clean, and fully stocked.
- Collaborate with team members, follow safety protocols, and adhere to EMS regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a state-approved EMT training program.
- Current EMT certification (e.g., NREMT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Prior EMS experience preferred.
- Strong communication, decision-making skills, and physical stamina.
