POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsibilities include but not limited to: The incumbent is responsible for patient assessment, respiratory care diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, arterial puncture and sample analysis, and point-of-care testing. Administers treatment modalities and aerosolized medications to patients. Provides ventilator management, including patient assessment and intervention. Uses respiratory care equipment, prepares medication and supplies. The incumbent is responsible for responding to Code Blue situations and providing appropriate intervention including, but not limited to BLS and airway management. Is responsible for providing quality care to patients who require respiratory care expertise. The incumbent staff member also demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. He or she must be able to assess and interpret data about patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the specific patient group. Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations, also be able to employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures. Must be able to work in Adult Critical Areas and Emergency Department. Must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator. This is a non-union position. Salary Range: $43.94-$57.60/hourly.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: As established by the Respiratory Care Board of California to obtain California RCP license.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of previous clinical/hospital experience preferred; Adult Critical Care and ventilator management experience preferred.
