Position Summary:
Dameron Hospital is seeking a dedicated RN Educator to join our Human Resources team. This position will focus on providing education and support for new nursing hires, ensuring they are well-prepared and equipped for success at Dameron Hospital. The RN Educator will be responsible for developing and delivering orientation programs, creating educational packets, and ensuring that all new hires have the necessary licensure and certifications. This role plays a key part in ensuring the hospital maintains high standards of care and compliance through ongoing training and support for its nursing staff. This is a non-union position
Key Responsibilities:
- New Hire Orientation: Develop, implement, and lead comprehensive orientation programs for new nursing staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and understanding of hospital policies and procedures.
- Educational Materials: Create and maintain educational packets for new hires, including licensure verification forms, hospital policies, training schedules, and other relevant documentation.
- Licensure and Certification Compliance: Ensure all new nursing staff meet licensing and certification requirements before they begin their roles. Follow up with new hires to confirm that all required documentation is submitted and up-to-date.
- Ongoing Education: Coordinate and deliver in-service training and continuing education sessions to nursing staff as needed to maintain clinical competencies and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborative Support: Work closely with the Human Resources department, Nursing Leadership, and other hospital departments to ensure that nursing staff have the support and education they need to excel in their roles.
- Tracking and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of new hire orientations, licensure statuses, continuing education participation, and other relevant documentation.
- Quality Improvement: Assist in the development of strategies to improve the onboarding and orientation process based on feedback and performance data.
- Additional Duties: Other duties as assigned to support the HR and Nursing departments, including participating in projects or committees related to nursing staff development and retention.
Required Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California, in good standing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Education preferred.
- Minimum of 1 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year of experience in education, training, or mentoring roles.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including licensure requirements and continuing education for nursing staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information clearly to individuals and groups.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with HR software or Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
