We're seeking experienced route driver. Individuals who are looking to join a growing company with a commitment to excellence are encouraged to apply for this position. A successful candidate acts as a store-level sales and delivery representative to small/medium format accounts like convenience and gas stores, small grocery stores, drug stores, restaurants, etc. Responsibilities include delivering, merchandising, and unloading orders; checking product quantities for accuracy; ensuring product rotation to safeguard against past-dated products available to consumers; and maintaining paperwork. Delivery drivers manage customer expectations regarding delivery and receiving instructions. Each position services up to 175 accounts periodically throughout the week/month. Responsible for selling products and services offered by the company to current and new clientele in a two-person selling system. Rotates and stocks products on shelves and inside bins/racks/cabinets found in bunkers, company equipment, and customers' coolers or freezers. Frequently interacts with store management and store receiving personnel for acceptance of load as required. This position requires lifting and loading cases ranging from 5-50 pounds repeatedly during work hours and pushing/pulling using 40-150 pounds of force occasionally. It also requires reaching, squatting, and bending while delivering and merchandising products in the store. Unloads products from the delivery vehicle by hand onto an available 2-wheel hand truck, stocks the account, collects payment, removes all waste produced from delivery, and empties the truck at the end of each day.
Essential Functions
- Work day starts when arriving at your assigned depot to prepare your assigned vehicle for your daily route each morning, to provide service and support to accounts, ensuring to physically visit all accounts populated.
- Upon completion of your last scheduled stop, but before leaving the account, you must end your day.(Settlementand upload)
- Required to record proper time and attendance via clocking in and out each day
- Ensures Store Management properly executes the check-in procedure.
- Responsible for ongoing rotating and stocking of products in freezers/coolers/bunkers, proper operation, and planogram integrity all in compliance with Company standards. (equipment failures or inoperable equipment is to be reported immediately upon discovery)
- Provide excellent service to assigned accounts and create and maintain goodwill with all customers.(e.g.,communication, rapport building, attentiveness to customer needs, etc.)
- Utilize handheld devices to download routes, input/write orders/credits, complete vehicle assignment, document activities and attend required company meetings. (ie: email/text/Conference calls)
- Conducts (2) daily inspections of vehicle condition via Pre/Post DVIR's. (Motive).
- Adheres to Company's Fleet Safety Program/Procedures.
- Drives truck to service center/office to obtain needed repairs and services.
- Maintains records and submits documentation of all service or repairs performed outside company maintenance department.
- Fills the truck with fuel/Def at approved service stations using Motive fuel card. (DEF fluid is housed on-site in select territories)
- Ensures the interior and exterior of the truck is cleaned. Vacuums interior and collects and disposes of garbage.Wipes surfaces. Cleans windows. Washes exterior as necessary. (Keep personal belongings neat and contained)
- Maintain positive ongoing relationship with Pre-Sales Reps. associated with accounts. ie: Daily communications
