Position Summary
The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for leading and directing pharmacy activities of at a Damien Pharmacy location so that the objectives of the pharmacy are consistently and successfully achieved. They will manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy and supervise the pharmacy staff at their designated location. The pharmacy manager is responsible for the financial productivity of their pharmacy location. They work with the Chief Pharmacy Officer (CPO) to expand services for the Damien Pharmacy department to improve the services offered to the clients of Damien Cares.

Four or more years as a licensed pharmacist.
Current unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Indiana.
Possess superior organizational and administrative skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Ability to work independently and achieve high standards of productivity, achieving deadlines and with superior product results. Strong calendaring, organizational, and document management skills required. Proactive approach to solving problems and communicating to leadership. Knowledge of office management systems, procedures, and office equipment required. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.

- Oversees the daily services of the pharmacy, including monitoring internal pharmacy processes and operations.
- Manages the pharmacy staff including payroll, scheduling, evaluation, and development.
- Participates in the recruitment and hiring of new pharmacy staff.
- Responsible for the orientation and training of new pharmacy staff.
- Conducts meetings with members of the pharmacy staff at regular intervals.
- Works with the CPO to develop policies and procedures for the daily operations of the pharmacy.
- Regularly communicates with CPO with updates on the pharmacy operations
- Work with other departments within Damien Cares/Damien Center to ensure patient’s needs are being met to provide access to care.
- Ensures ongoing pharmacy compliance with all laws and regulations; ensure that the pharmacy meets or exceeds accreditation standards; and implement ‘’best practices’’ in department activities.
- Delegates’ authority as necessary to ensure that all responsibilities of this position and pharmacy operations are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensures that client’s service needs are being met with pharmacy staff customer service.
- Participates in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies. Initiate appropriate actions on reports and recommendations provided by authorized inspection agencies.
- Oversee audits by third parties (pharmacy benefit managers), respond to audit findings in a timely manner and work with director to put safeguards in place to prevent additional audit risk.
- Responsible for compliance with and maintenance of any accreditations that the pharmacy may achieve.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of 340B program and procedures of the program as it pertains to pharmacy operations.
- Responsible for the management of the pharmacy inventory and supplies including overstock, expired, and recalled inventory.
- Coordinates and prepares routine monthly and special reports to ensure appropriate record keeping and reporting
- Reconciles pharmacy petty cash and ensures deposit is made at least monthly.
- Participates in the pharmacy’s Performance Improvement program
- Ensure the security of the pharmacy.

- Performs other duties as assigned by Chief Pharmacy Officer
