Position Overview
Damned Good People is a non-profit dedicated to fostering open dialogue among secular groups without judgment. We seek a passionate leader to oversee daily operations, strategic growth, and community engagement while coordinating with our Beverly Hills headquarters. Responsibilities include managing facility operations (including a coffee shop), building relationships, event planning, and growing membership programs. Strong communication, organizational, and management skills required.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Project Management:
- Oversee the buildout of the new facility.
- Collaborate with the designer, contractor, and other project stakeholders, reporting directly to the CEO.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all aspects of the construction project, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control with contractor and designer.
Coffee Shop Procurement & Coordination:
- Establish a partnership with a local coffee shop to operate a satellite location within the facility.
- Align coffee shop operations with facility events and external community engagements.
- Maintain and nurture business relationships to ensure long-term success.
Operational & Facility Management:
- Oversee daily facility operations, including the integrated coffee shop.
- Manage building maintenance, vendor contracts, and overall operational logistics.
- Provide weekly reports to the Beverly Hills headquarters.
Community Outreach & Client Engagement
- Community Engagement: Act as a prominent figure in the local community, representing DGP and advocating for its members. Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, businesses, and influencers.
- Public Representation: Serve as the public face of DGP in St. Louis, embodying the organization’s values and fostering a positive public image.
- Communicate with organization and community members, addressing inquiries, concerns, and opportunities for collaboration, driving membership sign ups.
- Develop and implement programs that align with community needs and the nonprofit’s mission.
Event Planning & Program Development
- Event Planning & Production: Organize and execute special events, such as grand openings and ribbon-cutting ceremonies, ensuring they run smoothly and align with DGP’s mission.
- Manage event logistics, including budgeting, marketing, and outreach, with the help of our headquarters in Beverly Hills.
- Track and assess event success to improve future programming.
Membership Facilitation & Growth
- Develop strategies to attract, retain, and engage members.
- Oversee membership programs, benefits, and communication efforts.
- Implement initiatives to enhance member experience and satisfaction.
- Media Outreach: Coordinate with local media outlets to secure live coverage and press attention for DGP events and initiatives.
- Social Media Content Creation: Develop and share engaging social media content to promote events, highlight community involvement, and keep members and followers informed.
- All content will be delivered to BH Headquarters, with the Office Manager overseeing and handling all postings.
Fundraising & Financial Management
- Assist in grant writing, sponsorship acquisition, and donor relations with BH headquarters.
- Create innovative fundraising campaigns to support operational and programmatic goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit or community-based organization.
- Strong project management and event planning skills.
- Excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
- Experience with membership programs and community engagement.
