Gas Leak Survey Technicians are responsible for surveying pipelines and identifying the origin and severity of the leaks detected. As a Leak Survey Technician, you will inspect, locate, and evaluate gas leaks and document findings accurately for submission to the gas company. Experience is preferred but not required, we will provide training.
We provide a variety of services to gas utility companies including leak detection, emergency response survey, and atmospheric corrosion survey. We have over 40 years of experience in the gas industry.
Responsibilities & Skills:
● Accurately detect and classify gas leaks during inspections
● Document Abnormal operating conditions ( AOC )
● Patrolling pipelines ( Walking )
● Leak investigation
● Atmospheric corrosion inspection of above ground natural gas structures
● Work efficiently and manage time properly with little supervision
● Be highly self-motivated
● Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time
● Must be able to walk several miles per day in all types of weather
● Bending, crouching, and kneeling will be necessary
● Must be able to carry and lift 5-10 lbs of survey equipment
● Complete work in an efficient manner and meet all required completion dates
● Follow company guidelines.
● Adhere to safety procedures
● Keep lines of communication open
● Leak Survey Technicians may need to learn other related tasks that are not listed above
● Valid driver’s license and registered and insured vehicle (proof of license and insurance required)
● Reliable and dependable vehicle that meets company requirements
● DOT pre-employment and random drug screening required
● Must pass a pre-employment background check
● Understand maps and directions
● Cell Phone and Have Home internet
Hours Monday thru Friday respective of City Gas Systems Operating Hours
In general, there is no weekend work.
Beginning Pay during training: $18.00 per hour.
Once training is complete an Operator Qualification written, and field test must be passed at which time the hourly rate will be increased to $19.00 per hour and $2.75 per hour for use of vehicle. (Previous Experience will be taken into consideration)
