Overview
We are seeking a Painters apprentice to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential painting and a strong understanding of various painting techniques. This role involves working on construction sites, performing tasks related to both interior and exterior painting, and ensuring high-quality finishes on all projects. The Painter will also collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and remodelers, to achieve the desired results.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as needed.
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Perform trim carpentry and frame carpentry tasks as required to enhance the overall appearance of painted areas.
- Install fixtures and caulk seams to ensure a professional finish.
- Collaborate with team members on remodeling projects to ensure cohesive design and execution.
- Utilize basic math skills for measuring areas and calculating paint quantities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on construction sites.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while working in various settings.
Experience
- Proven experience in residential painting or related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction site protocols and practices is advantageous.
- Skills in trim carpentry, plaster work, frame carpentry, fixture installation, and caulking are highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with other tradespeople and clients.
