Dana-co, a leading design company of luxury intimate apparel, is seeking a Color Merchandising Associate to join our team. This role is in-office, 4 days onsite in New York City with an option to work remotely for 1 day. In this role, you will work closely with the Merchandising team to support the development, management, and execution of color strategies across our product ranges. Your contributions will ensure that our color selections stay aligned with current fashion trends, industry shifts, and brand standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textiles, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to multi-task and adjust to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Process-oriented with a creative problem-solving mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Trend Monitoring & Analysis:
- Stay informed on the latest fashion trends to ensure color selections are current and aligned with industry shifts.
- Monitor competitors’ product ranges and color strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
Color Presentation & Development:
- Assist in the development of color cards, CADs, presentations, and other visual aids to support merchandising and design efforts.
- Ensure timely delivery of all presentations, adhering to established calendar deadlines.
Color Coordination & Management:
- Maintain updated merchandise color charts and color references for consistency across the product line.
- Collaborate with the Illustrator team on prints and sketches to align with seasonal color themes.
- Assist in creating brand/season-specific color palettes and recoloring styles as requested.
Seasonal Color Tracking:
- Update and track seasonal color information, including color names, standards, color codes, and any changes from licensors.
- Review and communicate office colors by brand/season for approval and forward them to licensors when necessary.
Communication & Updates:
- Regularly update the Season Color Flow Sheets and communicate updates to the Product Development (PD) team to ensure all SMS requests are accurate and up to date.
- Generate and maintain color codes by brand/season, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all products.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, product development, and licensing, to ensure color selections align with overall product strategy.
- Build collaborative relationships across departments and divisions to streamline the color development process.
