Overview
The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Integrated Philanthropy Marketing develops and leads execution of all philanthropy marketing strategies to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Division of Philanthropy in reaching fundraising, participation, awareness, and philanthropic goals. This role oversees integrated marketing strategy for the Division of Philanthropy utilizing a multi-channel integrated approach to engage and grow philanthropic audiences. The AVP of Integrated Philanthropy Marketing drives revenue for campaigns and fundraising programs and is adept at utilizing analytics and testing to maintain the health of marketing and digital channels to optimize engagement across all platforms. This role also leads the integrated marketing team in the development and execution of a multi-channel marketing strategy that aligns with brand objectives, ensuring all initiatives are audience led and optimized for accessibility and user experience to drive participation and revenue. This position reports to Vice President, Philanthropy Marketing & Communications.
The onboarding of this role will include a comprehensive training process which includes completion of online modules, shadowing colleagues, as well as hands-on learning experiences throughout the first calendar year in the role.

This position is considered remote, 0-1 days onsite at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA each week. DFCI guidelines state that employees must reside in New England: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont.

Responsibilities
Integrated Marketing Strategy:
- Create and oversee execution of annual and multi-year Integrated Marketing strategy for the Division of Philanthropy with an emphasis on optimizing channel-mix for increased engagement and fundraising.
- Oversee team of account managers and digital marketers providing strategic guidance for the development and execution of multichannel integrated marketing plans, reporting, and analysis for Jimmy Fund, Annual Giving, and philanthropic events, programs, and initiatives inclusive of integrated email marketing, social media, digital advertising, out-of-home, print, and search strategy.
- Oversee strategy and optimization of philanthropy websites (including jimmyfund.org and defycancer.org) and integration on dana-farber.org.
Management:
- Manage a highly performing team of account management and digital marketing professionals, motivating staff and encouraging professional and skill development.
- Serve on Philanthropy Leadership Team (PLT) and partner closely with Philanthropy Marketing & Communications VP, Philanthropy Communications AVP, Donor Engagement and Experience, Annual Giving, the Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Communications, and Information Services on all marketing-related initiatives.
Budgeting:
- Develop and manage Integrated Marketing budget in alignment with Division priorities.
- Provide counsel and recommendations for the Jimmy Fund, Annual Giving, and other units in the Division of Philanthropy on their marketing-related budgets.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages five (5) direct reports and leads a department of twenty-four (24) marketing professionals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field required. 10 years of experience integrated marketing, digital marketing, and/or communications strategy required, including in social media, digital advertising, mobile marketing, out-of-home, experiential (in person and virtual), and cross-channel marketing. Significant (5 years) management experience required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Organization: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet all deadlines and stay on budget.
- Customer Service: Provide quality client service and strategic counsel to multiple fundraising units.
- Financial Expertise : Proficient in budgeting principles and advising on internal marketing budgets.
- Management: Ability to lead a highly performing team of professionals, motivating staff, managing performance, and encouraging professional and skill development
- Leadership: Lead, advise and influence departmental integrated marketing projects and strategy, troubleshoot complex issues, and communicate effectively.
- Industry Knowledge: Expertise in integrated marketing strategy. Stay current on trends in multichannel marketing, and the latest developments, technologies and best practices within the sector.
