Overview

This role will report to the Senior Director for Clinical Access and Equity in the development and implementation of Institute-wide programs, in partnership with the Chief Clinical Access Equity Officer (CCAEO) and Senior Director for Clinical Access and Equity. The Program Manager will plan and implement activities and projects related to Institute-wide access & equity work; develop and manage evaluation methods to assess program success and monitor key metrics in the access and equity programming under the office of the CCAEO. The program manager will focus on the operational aspects of implementation, with the goal of supporting the work of the Senior Director for Clinical Access and Equity. The CCAEO program manager will work synergistically with the Institute’s Cancer Care Equity Program (CCEP) leadership team to ensure clinical access and equity initiatives are appropriately integrated.

Responsibilities

  • Support the work of the CCAEO and Senior Director for Clinical Access and Equity.
  • Work with CCEP Leadership Team to integrate projects and initiatives that drive clinical access and health equity work.
  • Lead project management for strategic and operational priorities for the Senior Director of Clinical Access and Equity (e.g., define project scope, develop workplans and timeline, manage budget, escalate risks/issues, and oversee implementation and evaluation).
  • Help to operationalize enterprise-wide quality improvement policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Organize and facilitate multidisciplinary workgroup meetings for various initiatives (e.g., create agendas, compile meeting materials, facilitate discussion, take meeting notes, and follow up on next steps).
  • Assist in development and refinement of project performance and quality metrics.
  • Support clinical trials and research expansion efforts as appropriate in conjunction with the research team.
  • Liaise with internal departments as well as external community-based partners on behalf of the Network.
  • Create presentations and reports for internal and external consumption.
  • Assist Philanthropy Office with Network related grants and funding opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Public Health, Business Administration, or Health Administration preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience required, preferably in a highly complex, matrixed organization such as an academic medical center, medical school teaching hospital, or other/consulting experiences in these types of environments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • A working knowledge of health care and academic medicine is essential.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, management experience and an analytic orientation are essential to this position.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong managerial ability. Ability to interact and influence at the most senior levels of an organization and to work collaboratively across departments toward shared objectives.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and strategically in a team environment with all levels of professional, technical, and administrative staff and to integrate resources on a timely and organized basis.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. Ability to distill complex information into key takeaways and present to and interact with senior levels of management and faculty leaders. Experience in preparing executive-level presentations, reports, and visuals.
