Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining tools and dies to shape parts to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to create tools and dies.
- Repair tools and dies as needed
- Set up and operate machine tools
- Fit and assemble parts to make repair dies, cutting tools, fixtures, gauges and jigs
- Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines and grinders
- Perform programming tasks as required for CNC machines
- Conduct regular maintenance on tools and dies to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot issues related to tooling.
- Implement GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles in design and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience working directly as a Tool and Die maker
- Experience working with lathes is required
- Experience working with CNC machines is required
- Proficiency in using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring devices.
- Able to use root cause principals to identify issues and troubleshoot equipment
- Solid math skills for precise measurements and calculations.
- Attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
