Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care within a hospital setting. This position requires proficiency in medication administration, aseptic techniques, and a solid understanding of medical terminology. The Pharmacy Technician will assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Utilize aseptic technique for compounding sterile products, including IV infusions.
  • Assist in medication administration for patients in acute care and critical care settings.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles, ensuring all information is up to date.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
  • Educate patients on proper medication usage and potential side effects.
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Manage inventory levels of medications and supplies, including ordering and restocking as necessary.
  • Perform quality control checks on medications and equipment to ensure safety standards are met.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmacy practice.
  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in medication administration techniques, including IV infusion processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.86 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
