Summary: Supervises the activities of personnel engaged in receiving, decontaminating, packaging, sterilizing, storing and distributing supplies and instruments to various areas within the hospital.
Job Qualifications
Education: Requires one (1) year of college with course work in Business Administration, management, etc. Must attain Central Sterile Technician Certification within first year of employment.
Experience: Requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in Central Sterile/Nursing and one (1) year in a supervisory capacity, or equivalent experience.
License: N/A
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL FACTORS
Physical: Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of standing at files or work tables, repeated changes of position within the work routine or prolonged sitting.
Mental: Work demands may impose home and social life inconvenience, even though predictable on most occasions and regular volume of work and deadlines impose strain on a routine basis.
