What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scoreboard Operator position at Danbury Westerners?
The Scoreboard Operator’s duty is to update the scoreboard immediately after each pitch, ensuring the proper recording of balls, strikes and outs. In addition, for each team the scoreboard operator must properly record the runs scored in each inning plus the cumulative hits and errors for the game. The scoreboard operator must also display the uniform number of each batter and the official scorer’s hit or error decision on questionable plays.
In order to complete duties, the individual must have an excellent understanding of the rules of baseball and maintain focus on the game. They must be organized, prepared and concentrate on their duties throughout the game.
