At Dance Works, we are passionate about supporting the dance community in Utah County with the best in footwear, dancewear, and accessories. Our boutique specializes in providing high-quality dance shoes and gear, with a particular focus on pointe shoe fittings. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual, preferably with a background in dance, to join our team and help dancers find the perfect gear for their needs. You will be the face of our store, providing exceptional customer service while assisting customers with their shopping needs. You will play a crucial part in driving sales and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers.

Responsibilities:

• Pointe Shoe Fittings: Conduct detailed and personalized pointe shoe fittings for customers, ensuring that each dancer gets the right fit for comfort, performance, and longevity.
• Customer Service: Greet customers as they enter the store and offer friendly and knowledgeable assistance to them, answering questions and providing advice on products including shoes, apparel, and accessories. Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
• POS & Cash Register: Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently, handling customer transactions, returns, and exchanges.
• Product Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of dance footwear, particularly pointe shoes, as well as dancewear and accessories across multiple dance disciplines (ballet, jazz, modern, ballroom, tap, etc.).
• Sales: Drive sales through product recommendations, ensuring customers are equipped with everything they need for their dance classes, rehearsals, or performance.
• Inventory Management: Assist with inventory checks, restocking, and maintaining a tidy and organized store.
• Product Displays: Maintain product displays and ensure shelves are stocked and organized.
• Customer Experience: Provide an exceptional shopping experience for all customers, ensuring they leave with the right products and positive feelings about Dance Works.

Qualifications:

• Dance Experience: Previous experience in dance is preferred. Experience with pointe shoes is strongly preferred.
• Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for helping people and providing excellent customer service.
• POS & Cash Register Operations: Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is advantageous, with an understanding of basic transaction processing.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately fit and recommend the best products based on each dancer’s needs.
• Communication: Clear and effective communication skills with both customers and team members.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment and contribute to store goals.
• Flexible Availability: Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time and move around the store.
• Ability to lift and carry boxes of products and assist with stocking shelves.
• Ability to crouch and kneel during pointe shoe fittings.
• Comfortable assisting customers with trying on shoes and other dance gear.
