The DanceOne team is seeking a dedicated and strategic Director of Accounts Payable to lead our accounts payable operations. This role combines leadership, process improvement, and collaboration across departments to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of all payment activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in fast-paced environments, and has a passion for excellence in financial operations.
In This Role, You Will:
You will oversee the accounts payable function while leading a high-performing team and driving process improvements. Your expertise will ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payments to vendors and suppliers.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, manage, and mentor the accounts payable team, providing guidance, training, and performance reviews.
- Develop and implement goals, objectives, and KPIs for the AP department.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient team environment.
- Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice validation, coding, approval, and payment processing.
- Manage credit card transactions, ensuring proper coding, approval, and payment.
- Ensure timely payments to vendors, optimize cash flow, and manage payment terms and discounts.
- Resolve discrepancies or disputes with vendors effectively.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and internal controls for payment processes.
- Collaborate with auditors and provide documentation for AP processes.
- Perform regular reconciliations to maintain the accuracy of accounts payable ledgers.
- Assess and enhance AP processes and systems to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Implement automation tools and technological solutions to streamline operations.
- Develop and monitor AP performance metrics, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiating payment terms and resolving issues promptly.
- Develop strategies to optimize supplier relationships and expectations.
- Partner with tour operations, production, marketing, legal, and finance teams to ensure contract compliance and smooth operations.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-saving initiatives with financial insights.
- Provide regular reports and analyses on AP performance metrics to senior management.
- Analyze payment trends, cash flow impact, and payment cycle times for optimal financial management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or CPA is a plus).
- 10 years of experience in accounts payable or finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems and AP automation tools (e.g., NetSuite, Ramp, American Express).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Experience with international AP processes and currency conversions.
- Knowledge of tax regulations for vendor payments and withholdings.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive under pressure.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance related to accounts payable.
- Prior experience in the entertainment, music, live theatre, or live production industry is highly preferred.
- Physical requirements include computer screen time, sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 30 lbs. unassisted.

- This position is hybrid, requiring you to work at our Hollywood, CA office two to three days per week with the remaining days remote.
