Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform all Electrical and Instrumentation Class I, II and III work as directed by the Manager of Maintenance, supervisor, lead person or his designee pertaining to all site equipment, structure and grounds. Reference to the Union Contract for class definitions
The electrician’s position includes, but is not limited to:
o Designing and sizing industrial motor and control circuits and components
o Specifying electrical equipment
o Troubleshooting and repair of electrical control circuits
o Testing and repair of electrical equipment and devices
o Installing electrical systems according to applicable codes and regulations
o Preparing and updating schematics and other drawings for new and existing installations
o Recommendations on the resolution of ongoing problems
The Instrument Technician’s position includes, but is not limited to:
o Maintaining records and documentation to meet ISO 9000 requirements
o Installation, configuration, calibration and maintenance of all site instrumentation and process control equipment
o Maintaining all records associated with the installation, configuration, calibration and maintenance of all site instrumentation and process control equipment
o Developing control scheme designs for the installation of new processes and equipment and the modification of existing equipment. Develop an instrumentation list, specify install and start-up new instrumentation for new processes and equipment and the modification of existing equipment
o Maintenance of spare parts inventories and service manuals for all instrumentation and process control equipment
o Preparation and retention of all schematic diagrams, loop sheets, etc. for the site
o Making recommendations on the resolution of ongoing problems
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process problems as directed by the maintenance supervisor, lead person or hi designee. Ability to understand the
• problem, determine the cause of the problem, develop a plan of action and implement the plan
• Ability to read and comprehend maintenance procedures, equipment manuals and construction drawings and sketches. Ability to do math associated with the job
• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
• Ability to perform duties from elevated platforms, access structures and ladders as required. Ability to work enter and work in confined spaces. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Provide maintenance work feedback in a legible written fashion and provide good oral communications to co-workers, production supervision, and the maintenance supervisor
• Participate in site programs to assist in the continuous development and improvement of the site
• Ability to follow all plant rules and safety regulations and to perform all work in a safe manner. Report all injuries and unsafe conditions
• Perform other duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor, lead person or his designee
