Danco Property Management is looking for an Assistant Property Manager for our upcoming permanent supportive affordable housing property, Central Sacramento Studios. The Assistant Property Manager is directly responsible for helping manage the property to ensure effective fiscal, physical and social soundness. The Assistant Property Manager oversees the day to day operations of the property including administrative, facilities and resident relations.

  • Assist with day-to-day property management, including rent collection, lease enforcement, and maintenance coordination.
  • Support occupancy management: process applications, conduct unit inspections, prepare lease documents, and manage renewals.
  • Ensure property is maintained to regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident files and documentation in compliance with HUD, LIHTC, and other affordable housing regulations.

Resident Relations

  • Build positive, respectful relationships with residents while enforcing lease and community rules.
  • Collaborate with supportive service providers to ensure resident needs are addressed.
  • Respond promptly to resident concerns, service requests, and emergencies.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Assist with compliance audits and reporting for funding and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor program requirements including income certifications, annual recertifications, and ongoing eligibility.
  • Help track occupancy levels, rent payments, and other property metrics using property management software.

Administrative Duties

  • Answer phones, respond to emails, and greet visitors and residents professionally.
  • Maintain organized files, records, and reports as required.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, financial reports, and vendor contracts as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1–2 years of experience in property management, affordable housing, supportive housing, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and housing compliance programs (HUD, LIHTC, PSH regulations).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a trauma-informed and empathetic approach to resident interaction.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Basic proficiency with property management software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
