About the Role
Dandy is seeking an experienced Multi-Site Manufacturing Controller who will be the onsite finance representative for our manufacturing business. The role can be based at our manufacturing site in Carrollton, TX or at our Lehi, UT site. This candidate will be joining at an exciting time as we build out a robust costing and reporting process. This role will be helping to lay the foundation of financial reporting and analysis at our production facility and will develop processes and procedures for the company to scale.
We are looking for a self-starter with an operational mindset who can navigate complex accounting transactions, and find solutions to new accounting scenarios as they arise. The position is responsible for product costing and analysis, month end close procedures and management reporting. This role will also provide support in forecasting and budgeting, annual audit procedures and ad hoc projects. To be successful in this role, you will need to work cross departmentally for process discovery and be able to make suggestions to improve accuracy and efficiency to the current process. This role requires someone with strong interpersonal skills who can thrive in a chaotic environment while still maintaining an ownership mentality to prioritize deliverables and meet deadlines.
What You’ll Do
Own month end accounting and reporting for two manufacturing sites, including analysis of variances to standard cost and budget.
Provide timely and accurate analysis of financial data and trends in order to assist site leadership in their decision making processes
Cost modeling for new and existing products, including development and maintenance of cost cards
Drive financial results, liaising with site leadership, Procurement, FP&A, Business Operations, HR and other teams.
Review labor reporting, material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution cost, returns and inventory levels; investigate and report on variances
Prepare monthly costing and product allocation entries, support other month end closing entries, as needed
Drive continual improvement of processes, systems and tools
Validate and approve cost savings from continuous improvement projects
Facilitate and drive monthly financial forecasting efforts
Establish sound inventory management processes and controls, including review and audit of cycle count procedures
Responsible for internal controls at the facility encompassing manufacturing operations, procurement and finance functions.
Oversee inventory and costing analysts
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 6 years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong organizational, data mining, analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and link operational metrics to financial performance
Strong understanding of product costing and inventory management
Ability to identify and communicate accounting issues to management in a timely and concise manner
Knowledgeable in US GAAP and internal controls regarding all aspects of manufacturing operations
High level of proficiency in spreadsheets and ERP/MRP systems.
Accustomed to multitasking, prioritizing, and meeting multiple tight deadlines in a constantly evolving, fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail and relentless follow-through
Proactive and able to work autonomously when necessary
The ideal candidate is curious, enthusiastic, and not afraid to ask questions
Willingness to travel ~20% between manufacturing sites
