The Dane County Land and Water Resources Department has openings for the LTE County Park Attendant position in Madison, WI.

DEFINITION
Under the direct supervision of the Engagement and Visitor Services Manager and general supervision from Park Rangers, incumbents in this classification maintain campgrounds, shelter areas, playgrounds, trails, boat launches and visitor services.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Duties include cleaning procedures including trash removal, cleaning waste receptacles, and restroom and shower cleaning in county park facilities. Additional duties include maintaining turf and landscaped areas, operating and maintaining commercial type mowers, trimmers and other equipment. Performs public contact activities through inspections of the campgrounds, picnic areas, trails, playgrounds and other visitor use areas. Provides information and assistance to the public for special events, camping and boat launches. Work schedule includes evening, weekend, and holiday hours April - October.Education, Training and Experience:
Applicants must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
Certifications/Licenses:
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Special Requirements:
Final candidate(s) will be subject to passing a thorough driving record background check. Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Completion of the Wisconsin ATV/OHM Safety Course preferred.

For Bilingual Positions:

Physical and Environmental Work Requirements:
Ability to routinely lift up to fifty (50) pounds unassisted. Ability to do manual labor, including repetitive lifting, bending, reaching, kneeling and squatting. Ability to string trim for four (4) hours at a time. Work will be primarily outdoors in varying terrains in harsh temperature conditions.Ability to communicate tactfully with the public. Ability to work independently from oral and written directions. Candidates should have some skills in grounds maintenance and cleaning.
