Proposal Technical Writer
DANE LLC is seeking a Technical Proposal Writer who will take ownership for the development of compelling responses to federal contract opportunities. The Technical writer will write, edit, format and proofread proposal responses. The individual selected for this position will have a strong technical background, experience in the Federal contracting industry, and proven ability to understand government RFPs. This individual will collaborate with different teams to develop compliant, compelling, technically sound proposals, while adhering to strict deadlines and compliance requirements.
Location: Chantilly, VA (remote with availability to come into the office as needed)

Education: BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
Experience: 3-5 years of experience writing proposal content for federal contracting opportunities.
Clearance: Not Required
Related Experience Should Include:
- Proven experience writing content in response to federal RFPs including the Executive Summary, Non-Technical, Technical, Past Performance, and Pricing sections of the proposal.
- Must understand the federal government acquisition cycle, contract vehicles, contract types (BPA, IDIQ, etc.) and competitive position (open/full vs. set-aside).
- Minimum 3 years of experience writing technical proposal content for federal contracting opportunities.
- Must have a good understanding of software development lifecycle and the tools that support it; Application development, cloud services and or IT security.
- Demonstrated experience searching for and reviewing and evaluating opportunities.
Job Duties:
- Create, Write, Edit, Proofread and Format proposals and related documents, including: Management and Technical sections, Cover letters, Past Performance, Pricing, Resumes, Templates etc.
- Collaborate with the Corporate, BD, Proposal Team, SMEs members and others as assigned.
- Integrate writing contributions into one, compliant, cohesive proposal that meets the client’s needs and showcases DANE.
- Review proposals against RFP to ensure compliance.
- Follow style guidelines and standards.
- Assist business development by identifying and researching potential opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Impeccable writing, editing, proofreading of content for spelling, grammatical, punctuation and context.
- Expert skills in MS Word;
- Proficient in the use of other MS Applications including Excel and SharePoint
- Strong analytical skills
- Must have the ability to work autonomously and with a team.
- Must be proactive
- Must be detail-oriented
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks successfully under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Must be able to work evenings or on weekends on occasion to meet proposal deadlines.

Minimum Qualifiers:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Computer Science or related field.
- 3 years of experience writing and editing information technology proposals in response to federal government RFPs.
- Only local residents to the Northern VA, DC, MD area will be considered.
