The ideal candidates will hold an Oregon state medical license and be Board Certified in General Surgery.
Job Description
You will serve as a Physician Reviewer/Advisor for Independent Medical Exams (IME), utilizing your clinical expertise to review insurance appeals, prospective, and retrospective claims.
As a Physician Reviewer, you will provide an interpretation of the medical necessity of services provided by other healthcare professionals.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review all medical records and address each question posed by the client using client-specific criteria or nationally recognized evidence-based guidelines.
- Ensure that the rationale for the determination is clear, concise, and contains adequate supporting documentation.
- Identify, critique, and utilize current criteria and resources to support sound and objective decision-making.
You will return cases on or before the due date and time and maintain proper credentialing and state licenses. You may also be required to attend orientation and training sessions.
This is an advisory-only opinion, and no doctor-patient relationship is established. The ideal candidate will have active practice experience and be Board certified.
