Attendance Clerk - Danforth Junior High (24-25)

Primary Purpose:

Maintain accurate attendance records for the campus.  Perform data entry and other duties as directed by Administrators of Registrar.  Will serve as back-up to the Receptionist.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases, and do word processing

Proficient keyboarding, file maintenance, and 10-key skills

Ability to meet established deadlines

Strong interpersonal skills and friendly demeanor

Knowledge and experience with Emergency Protocol and Drills

 

Experience:

Two years data entry experience

Experience with attendance and PEIMS

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Receptionist

1.     Serve as the campus receptionist, greeting all incoming visitors to the campus.  This is to include; vendors, substitutes, teachers, etc.

  1. Answer all incoming lines, transferring callers to the appropriate party and providing messages either in paper format or electronically.

Records and Reports

  1. Ensure security to the office and building entrance.
  2. Call parents to verify student absences on a daily basis.
  3. Report all attendance problems to designated administrator.
  4. Assist parents, students, and faculty with questions regarding student attendance.
  5. Proficient in the use of multi-purpose phones.
  6. Make daily campus announcements and other various times, as needed.
  7. Supervise student office aides.
  8. Write bus passes and coordinate with the Department of Transportation.
  9. Cover for campus nurse as needed and maintain certifications in First Aide, CPR, etc.
  10. Manage/Assist Family Access for parents. Verify documents for on-line registration during new student enrollment.
  11. Organize daily lunches for students.
  12. Prepare and print reports, including attendance reports, grades, class or personnel reports, end-of-semester reports.
  13. Maintain physical and computerized records, including student cumulative folders, progress and failure reports, class rosters, grade books, and schedule changes if applicable.
  14. Process new student records, setting up cumulative folder, and entering student data into appropriate databases.
  15. Assist parents, students, and faculty with questions regarding student attendance.
  16. Process and transmits requests for student information and transcripts.
  17. Coordinate the many outside agencies on campus.

  1. Assist in campus office as needed.
  2. Maintain confidentiality.

None.

Personal computer or online computer terminal, printer, calculator, and copier.
