Danfoss Power Solutions has an immediate opportunity for a Strategic Buyer, on our Global Procurement team, in our Ames, IA facility.
The Strategic Buyer is responsible for operational procurement activities within our local/regional plant sites, acting as a key point of contact for our suppliers and within the organization.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Support organization goals and objectives with emphasis on cost savings, supplier performance, contribution margin, and sales
- Material change management and PPAP activities
- Procurement master data maintenance
- Quoting and contract review, negotiation, and evaluation
- Supplier accountability for on time delivery and reimbursement claims
- Negotiation and implementation of inventory solutions (CMI, VMI, 3PL, etc.)
- Supplier capacity management

Required (basic) Qualifications
- Degree within business, logistics, or supply chain, and 1 years' of experience in the procurement, supply chain, or parts/supplier management field/s. Degrees in other relevant fields of study within manufacturing, quality, and or engineering will be considered.
- 3 years' experience in procurment, supply chain or parts/supplier management in lieu of a degree
- SAP or other ERP systems (ex. Oracle, JD Edwards) working knowledge.
- Siemens Teamcenter PLM knowledge.
- Experience in negotiating quotes and contracts
- Experience with engineering changes and qualification activities (PPAP).
