Job Description
Danfoss is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Traffic Coordinator for our Van Wert site. Main tasks are to access and implement all traffic functions within the distribution facility in order to provide carriers with proper paperwork, customer invoices, and to disburse inventory properly.
2nd shift hours are 2:30 - 11 pm.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Prepare proper documentation in order to produce shipping paperwork. Create waybills for export shipments to allow quick and accurate processing through Customs.
- Complete transactions for all bills of lading which disburses inventory and sets off invoicing to the customer. Work directly with Carrier Operations personnel to schedule shipments and resolves shipment issues.
- Become subject matter expert for outbound domestic shipments while acquiring knowledge on export processes.
- Ability to use TMS to obtain freight rates, customer logistics websites to determine mode of transportation and to provide proper documentation for the shipment.
- Maintain files to provide paperwork for inquiries on proof of deliveries or audits, which will approve or deny credit. Verify sales order due dates vs. shipment dates on the packing lists.
- Work directly with Customer Support to answer customers’ transportation questions. Research and support freight claim initiation and investigations. Provide guidance to proper ASN support groups.
- Guide material handlers in carrier loading schedules.
- Implement special decisions when necessary including scheduling of expedited shipments.
Background & Skills
Required (basic) qualifications
- HS Diploma
- 1 years’ experience within Logistics or Transportation
- Must be able to work in the US, without sponsorship, both now and in the future
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Knowledge of inner workings of Distribution/Shipping facility in regard to problem solving
- Knowledge of filling out special forms
- Knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP system
- Knowledge of PC including internet, email, and MS Office
- Knowledge of phone system, copy, fax, and scanning machines
- Knowledge of carrier and customer websites
