Job Summary
Daniel Realty has an immediate seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Leasing Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in property leasing providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining positive relationships with potential tenants. This position requires strong communication skills, knowledge of Fair Housing, Fair Credit Reporting Act and other laws and regulations governing multifamily housing operations.
Responsibilities:
- Shows and rents apartments to prospective tenants.
- Interviews prospective tenants, completes application forms and records information to determine needs and qualifications.
- Inspects condition of available apartments to be shown to prospective tenants and report maintenance needed.
- Accompanies prospects to model apartment(s), discusses size and floor plan, available facilities (i.e., swimming pool and saunas, location of shopping facilities, other services available, etc.), and terms of lease.
- Completes lease form or agreement and submits lease to Manager for approval and execution. Collects rental and security deposit.
- Follow up with prospects and new residents to ensure satisfaction by sending email, thank-you notes/ cards/making phone calls or other contacts to finalize decisions to lease and/or renew.
- Execute and performs activities in support of the community’s lease renewal program by preparing lease renewal letter and packages for residents, meeting with and contacting renewing residents in advance of move-out dates and ensuring that lease renewal documents are signed and implemented on time.
- Respond quickly and courteously to resident and client/owner concerns and questions and take prompt action to solve problems and/or document and convey resident or other requests to the appropriate individuals.
- May compose various advertisements for management approval.
- Prepares and maintains filing system for lease records and documents.
- May perform light typing such as forms, routine or standardized letters, reports, and labels.
- Maintains logs of various lease activities and associated documents.
- Assist the Property Manager in gathering and compiling current market and economic information and preparing competitive market analysis and market trends.
- Complies with all state, federal and/or local laws relating to Fair Housing.
Requirements
- Proven experience in property leasing or a related field is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients.
- Proficient in internet, property management software systems Microsoft office, social media avenues for advertising and strong customer service skills.
- Knowledge of collaboration sales techniques to effectively engage potential tenants.
- Experience with Yardi software is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, which includes weekend and or holidays.
